Desmond ‘Motown’ Washington has 19 years experience and ten years of schooling playing drums and piano. Growing up in Detroit, “Motown” performed in concerts starting in pre-school. During his years in middle and high school he traveled in a modern jazz band around Michigan to venues including Fox Theater, Comerica Park (Detroit Tigers stadium), Music Hall. “Motown” attended Marvin Winans of Performing Arts Academy learning music theory. In 2008 at the age of 20 he tied for first place in Guitar Center’s drum competition.
