Motown

Desmond ‘Motown’ Washington has 19 years experience and ten years of schooling playing drums and piano. Growing up in Detroit, “Motown” attended music programs at Carson’s Elementary and Myra Jones, from 2001-2004 Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences, and 2004-2006 Marvin Winans Academy of Performing Arts. During his years in middle and high school he traveled in a modern jazz band around Michigan to venues including Fox Theater, Comerica Park (Detroit Tigers stadium), and Music Hall.

  • 2009- JD Feighner and Kajmir Royale
  • In 2008 ‘Motown’ at the age of 20 tied for first place in Guitar Center’s Drum Off competition. In 2009 he auditioned and was featured on P Diddy’s ‘Making His Band

    He has traveled across the state of Colorado opening for bands like ‘Who’s Bad’, ‘Sugar Ray’, and ‘Ronnie Baker Brooks’ and shows at Fox Theater (Boulder), Stargazer’s Theater, Colorado Bike Fest, Denver People’s Fair, Taste of Fort Collins, and every venue in Colorado Springs.

    ‘Motown’s’ musical styles range from R & B, Hip Hop, Pop, Jazz, Gospel, Classical, Reggae, Rumba, and Salsa. He is currently a drummer for the Jake Loggins Band and is a music producer at Lead Alliance, collaborating on projects for major music industry artists.
